About Lam Kwong Deli & Market

Located at 2031 12th St, Sacramento, CA 95818, Lam Kwong Deli & Market operates as a chinese restaurant serving Sacramento in California. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as deli, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–4 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Lam Kwong Deli & Market at (916) 443-8805; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 408 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinese restaurant in Sacramento and suggests consistent service.

Sacramento is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Sacramento is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Total hole in the wall dim sum spot downtown that's always worth stopping in for some great food. Youu gotta get in early and with cash- they won't take a card and run out of nearly everything by late linch. The pork bao and sesame balls are amazing. Pretty solid menu ranging from dim sum to entres and side dishes- but again, their dim sum menu is what I'd recommend. The egg rolls are greasy, but if crispy greasy egg rolls are your thing- can't think of any place I've had better.

I don't understand how this place gets high ratings. It makes me question Google reviews. I ordered the Zucchini Chicken Over Rice. It was overwhelmingly rice with a little bit of entree. There wasn't much chicken or zucchini. It was mostly celery, which I dislike. It should have been called "celery and a bit of chicken over a mountain of rice." There is no seating. It's cash only. It's carry out only. The environment needs updating. I won't be going back.

Exceptionally delicious ! Felt like I've eaten everything in Downtown. Nothing seemed to draw my hunger, was in the area and found this place. The ladies are so kind and attentive. The food is delicious. It is really made with love, nothing tastes artificial or frozen. We had the fried egg rolls, fried rice, chicken chow mein, BBQ pork and rice plate and several shumai. Try the shumai !! The BBQ pork was so tender and cooked to perfection. Cash only, no dine in but it's in the perfect area, park across the street if you want to enjoy this delicious food outside. Overall I am glad I found this place. Will come back often.

Affordable and consistent. They can get busy around lunch time and are cash only. I haven’t been disappointed over the years, they remain a very good option for easy Chinese and dim sum. I’ll definitely keep going back as long as they remain open.

Extremely nice lady behind the counter. Great siu mai. Noodles were good, lots of meat, just a little greasy. Nice zucchini. Fried egg roll had a sweet flavor, but super crunchy. I loved it. $10.25 for a big lunch today. I wish I could eat there at the table, but I went to the park on 8th Street and found a picnic table.
